The couple announced their separation on 11^th May after nearly four years of marriage.   The pair married at Highclere Castle in Berkshire.

Price, 30, and Andre, 36, found romance whilst starring on the reality TV show I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

The couple have been well known for their bickering, which is often highlighted in their the latest TV offering Katie and Peter: The Next Chapter Stateside.

Andre wrote in his column for New! Magazine, “How anyone could think I would pretend to split up from my wife to grab headlines is beyond me.  It’s just sick.”

Peter Andre became stepfather to Price’s son, Harvey whose father is footballer Dwight Yorke.  The former couple also have two children of their own, Princess Tiaamii and Junior.

Andre declared on Radio One, his children are the most important thing in his life.  And were the motivating factors which had initially made him stay with Price to, “make the relationship work.”

He said, “The kids are awesome.  They give you a sense of stability.  They make you humble.”  But he declared there was no chance of getting back together.

Katie Price, also known as glamour model Jordan has been the focus of attention in the news.  The Daily Mirror pictured her partying, in revealing clothes kissing a mystery man in Ibiza.

But Peter Andre doesn’t want the press coverage to continue.  Because he fears it might impact badly on his children.

“I don’t want her to be getting bad press because I don’t want the kids to grow up and read it.”  Neither of them have stated a specific reason behind the marriage split.

After the split in May, Katie Price said in a statement, “Pete is the love of my life and is my life.”

“We have children together and I am devastated and disappointed by his decision to separate and divorce me, as I married him for life.”

Andre revealed he and Katie Price are still under contract with a TV production company.  And he is now recording for his own show about his new album release.

In addition, Katie has also vowed not to do any more interviews regarding her relationship with Peter.  Peter said, ‘I want to sort the matter out in private.”

But according to Price’s former management company Can Associates, she is confirmed to do a interview with Piers Morgan about the marriage split.

Andre went into I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here show in Australia in 2004.  It had been six years since he had entered the charts. 

In 1996 he had two number one hits, Flava and I Feel For You. But Andres trademark song, Mysterious Girl only reached number two in the UK charts.

Katie Price, alter ego Jordan is well known for her surgically enhanced breasts and page three newspaper photos.

She has dated celebrities such as boy band member Dane Bowers, reality pop star Gareth Gates.  And footballer Dwight Yorke who is father to her son Harvey.

Price took part in many of the gruesome jungle trials, which won her much respect from the British public.

Love Blossoms

Andre attempted to impress Price by mocking her ex boyfriend Gates.  He also wrote her a song called Insania.  Andre continuously serenaded her but Price refused to kiss on air.

But Andre revealed they shared their first kiss together in the Australian hotel contestants stayed at, after the show finished.

Price fell pregnant with their first child, Junior in June 2005.  The couple got married in September 2005 in a lavish ceremony at Highclere Castle, Hampshire.

They sold their wedding right for two million pounds to a magazine Hello! And for the wedding to be televised on ITV.  Her bridesmaid included fellow contestant Kerry Katona.

The first all access documentary was When Jordan Met Peter in 2004.  Then it was followed by Jordan and Peter: Marriage and Mayhem, Katie and Peter: The Next Chapter, Katie and Peter: Unleashed, Katie and Peter: Stateside.

In July 2008, they collaborated together releasing the album,  A Whole New World.  It reached Number 20 in the official UK top 40 album chart.

Future prospects

In 2008, the High Court awarded them libel damages.  And the News of the World Newspaper apologised for alleging Price and Andre were bad parents.

According to Britain’s Rich List, Katie Price is worth £30 million.  Among her business ventures she has a bedding, equestrian, hair care range and written a book, Angel Uncovered published in 2008.

Andre’s spokeswoman Claire Powell told New York Daily News, “I’ve just followed Peter to Indian Film Awards in Macau, China, which was absolutely amazing.”  It also reports Andre has reportedly signed a $1.8 million Bollywood movie deal and TV show.

Price’s spokesperson also confirmed to Daily Mirror that the 30-year-old, “has signed a separate deal and will be filming her own show.”

Bookmaker William Hill has offered odds of 2/1 that the couple will get back together this year.  And 6/1 they will renew their marriage vows for another glossy magazine.

Darryn Walker, 35 from Tyneside faced prosecution after writing a 12 page blog on a fantasy pornography website, according to Sky News.

He appeared at Newscastle Crown Court.  And was cleared as a result of the prosecutions lack of evidence it says.

His defence had argued the piece was not easily accessible to readers.  Unless there is a specific internet search for it.

The blog called Girls (Scream) Aloud was bought to police attention by the Internet Watch Foundation.  It is the organisation for public and IT companies which monitor obscene material online.

Walker was arrested in February 2008 by officers from the Obscene Publications Unit.  And had been granted unconditional bail before the trial, according to the Press Association.

Obscenity vs freedom

A Scotland Yard spokeswoman said it was unusual to see a prosecution brought under obscenity laws which did not involve pornographic images. 

Judge Esmond Faulks returned a not guilty verdict for Mr. Walkers, ‘publication an obscene article’ charge.

A report read out in court from a consultant psychiatrist said it was “baseless” to suggest that reading such material could turn others into sexual predators,said the BBC.

Tim Owen QC, defending for Mr Walker in a press statement to Press Association: “It was never his intention to frighten or intimidate the members of Girls Aloud.

“He had written what he had described as an adult celebrity parody and was only meant to be for an audience of like-minded people.”

Jo Glanville, editor of freedom of expression group Index on Censorship told BBC News, that the prosecution should never have been held in the first place.

Devestated Mr. Walker

Tim Owen further added in his press statement “”The effect of this prosecution on Mr Walker has been devastating.

“He has lost his job and has not managed to get further employment.  Hopefully he can now recommence his life.”

According to Owen, Mr. Walker had taken the article off the website when he was aware of the upset it had caused to Girls Aloud.

 But publicity of the case meant it had been put back on the net, for which Walker claimed he had “no control” over.

Mr. Walker refused to comment further on the matter as he walked free from Newscastle Crown Court.  

But Glanville said, “obscenity cases should be referred directly to the Director of Public Prosecutions before prosecution is triggered.”

The five stars, Cheryl Cole, Nadine Coyle, Sarah Harding, Kimberley Walsh and Nicole Roberts were unsuccessful in this court battle.

If the prosecution case against Walker’s fantasy pornographic blog had been successful, it would have been a landmark case.

Walker was charged under the Obscene Publications Act which has not been updated since 1959, stated in UK Statute Law.

The Act makes it illegal to publish material that “tends to deprave and corrupt” those individuals reading it.

This means that if the prosecution wants to be successful, the material in question would need to prove the above.  However this depends on the audience.

Classifying ‘obscene’

Walker’s defence had argued the piece was not easily accessible to readers.  Unless there was a specific internet search for it.

Obscenity laws are rarely used for internet content.  It has mainly been used against obscene images and there have been many cases of this.

The Obscene Publications Act 1960 was famously used against the publishers, Penguin books.  After it published sexually explicit novel, Lady Chatterleys’s Lover.

It had been banned since 1928, according to Penguin.  But once the ban was lifted it came into circulation again.

However, the Act has been successfully used in 1971 against satirical magazine, Oz after a cartoon of Rupert Bear having sex was published.

The publishers were convicted to 15 months imprisonment. Nevertheless the decision was overturned on appeal, according to Art and Popular Culture.com.

Human Rights Act

But does Mr. Walker have a right to write this controversial blog?  Despite it being written in a sexually violent tone.

Article 10 of the European Convention of Human Rights is the fundamental right to freedom of expression.  It has taken effect in the UK since the Human Rights Act was passed in 1998.

Although freedom of speech is a basic human right, Article 2 of the same act declares fundamental right to life.  But Article 3 right to freedom of torture, inhuman or degrading treatment.

The ECHR states it must protect, “public safety, for the prevention of disorder or crime, for protection of health or moral, reputation or rights of others.”

Defence counsel, Tim Owen QC told Newcastle Crown Court what Mr. Walker had produced was “widely available in an unregulated and uncensored form.”

Although Walker was not prosecuted, other landmark cases show there is a fine line between what is obscene and human rights.

Paramedics were called to Jackson’s rented Beverley Hills home at 1221 BST  (1921GMT) after an emergency call was made.

He was declared dead two hours later today at the UCLA Medical Centre, which is two minutes from his home according to celebrity website TMZ. 

He was due to start his much anticipated comeback, ‘This is it’ tour which had sold out 50 dates in London.

TV footage shown on the TMZ website filmed Michael Jackson body, flying from the medical centre to LA County Coroners Office.  A post mortem is thought to take place here, according to TMZ.

There is now much speculation about how he died.  And whether there was anything which could have prevented it.

Health Concerns

Tmz.com said Jackson had been receiving a daily injection of Demerol, a synthetic drug.  They allegedly claim that he may have been “too much” on Thursday.

Concerns were raised last month when four of Jacksons planned comeback dates were postponed. 

The spokeswoman for Publicity organisers, The Outside Organisation insisted to the Associated Press the complexity of staging the show was to blame.  They refused to comment any further.

Jackson’s friend Uri Geller suggested live in a Sky News interview, the stress of preparing for the shows could have made him rely on prescription drugs and have killed him.

Jackson had a history of medical problems.  In 1986 he was diagnosed with the disease lupus which lightened his skin tone and caused him to dramatically lose weight.

According to TMZ, Dr. Deepak Chopra a friend of Jackson’s said: “What became his compulsion with cosmetic surgery was an expression of self-mutilation.”  Because he suffered from body dysmorphic disorder.

Heartfelt Tributes

Celebrities such as former Beatles star, Paul McCartney told Reuters his “death was sad and shocking.”  Madonna added: “The world has lost one of its greats but his music will live on forever.”

The world media show live footage of the crowds of fans gathered outside Jackson’s home and the UCLA medical centre, to mourn for the star. 

They celebrate his music by singing and dancing to Michael’s hits.  And make it into an impromptu celebration of his life.

Fans in London also made their way to the O2 Arena, where Jackson had been due to start his sell-out concerts. 

Sannah Zahin, who had bought ten tickets out of the 50 shows said, “ I am so upset and haven’t stopped crying.  His music really was amazing and had a big impact on my life.”

Jackson began his career as a child with the Jackson Five. He went on to achieve global success with hits such as Thriller and Billie Jean.

King of Pop, Michael Jackson joined his brothers pop group in 1964, playing instruments in the background.  But it wasn’t long until he took the role as lead vocalist of Jackson Five.

Berry Jordan signed them up to his Motown record label in1969.  The debut single, I Want You Back goes straight to number one in the music charts.

But after six years with Motown and sensational hits such as ABC, Jackson Five start a new contract with CBS Records.

According to New York Times, Motown sues the Jackson Five for £10 million pounds in 1975.  But then Michael Jackson meets music producer Quincy Jones. 

According to CNN News, the first solo album  sold 10 million copies and includes charts successes such as Don’t Stop ‘Til you get enough.

Jackson’s innovative song and music video for Thriller sells 65 million copies which is published officially in the Guiness Book of Records.

New success

Over seven of the nine tracks make it into the charts including the Girl is Mine and Billie Jean.  But his trademark Moonwalk dance is broadcast live on air for the first time, in a Motown television special in 1983.

According to the BBC, Michael Jackson convinces video director, John Landis to transform him into a zombie for the expensive £500,000 video shoot of Thriller.

Sales of Thriller album soar after Michael’s hair is set on fire in a pyrotechnic explosion during a Pepsi commercial, according to the New York Times.

But this is when all the rumours start to surface.  The world media allege that Jackson sleeps in an oxygen tent. 

The media name him “Wacko Jacko.”  Jackson decides to recover from the accident at his Neverland Ranch.

In 1987, in the music video for Bad, Michael Jackson’s skin is noticeably pale.  This leads to speculation over skin bleaching and plastic surgery.

The allegation

Eleven year old Jordy Chandler’s family accuse Jackson of sexually molesting their son.  He denies the charges. But the Los Angeles police department raid his Neverland home.

In 1993, the family reaches an out of court settlement for an estimated $20 million according to New York Times.

His album in 1991, the album Invincible only stays in the charts for a paltry six weeks. And in a TV documentary he admits sharing a bed with children.

In 2003, Michael Jackson Neverland Ranch is raided again and he is arrested for molesting 14 year old Gavin Arvizo.  Jackson is found not guilty on all charges after a five month trial.

The trial is reported to have cost him £20 million dollars, which Sky News claims.  There are rumours of bankruptacy and Jackson moves to Dubai.

Jackson announces a comeback tour in a dramatic press conference which is shown all over the world.  He said, “This is it. I just want to say that these will be my final show performances in London.”

The three year old girl was accompanied on the flight by a nanny and head of Madonna’s Malawi charity, according to the BBC.

Mercy is the second child that US pop queen Madonna has adopted from Malawi, which was made official on 12th June 2009.

A court ruling issued in April has been overturned by the Malawi high court judge.  Madonna was previously rejected to adopt Mercy because she had not spent enough time in Malawi.

However the appeals court said the star’s commitment to helping disadvantaged children had not been considered.

They told Reuters, Madonna’s commitment to Malawian orphans meant she could “not be described as a sojourner.”

The Courts

Judge Esmie Chondo said that prospective parents must be a Malawi resident for at least 18 months.  But for Madonna, the rules were considered in a different manner.

Southern African’s state Chief Justice, Lovemore Munlo, stated Chondo “had imposed a definition of residency that was too narrow”, according to the BBC report.

Munlo also praised Madonna for her continuous efforts.  Her financial resources provide much needed support and aid to Malawi.

Approximately two million children have lost a parent to aids, which is supported by statistics from the Ministry of Women and Child Welfare Development Charity.

Madonna’s Raising Malawi Charity has funded a multi purpose community centre in Mphandula village which accommodates 8,000 orphans with food, education and medical care.

Madonna said in a press statement that, “My family and I look forward to sharing our lives with her.”  She said that she was “extremely grateful” to the courts.

Sad father

And the same enthusiasm is shared by Munlo who told the BBC, the child “would have a better life.”

Last year the singer, also adopted a son David Banda from Malawi.  She said she wanted him “to have a sibling from his home country.”

Malawian James Kambewa, who claims to be Mercy’s father, told CBS News, “I’m crying. I need my baby. I don’t know where I can find any help.”

Baby Mercy has been living in an orphanage since her mother died shortly after giving birth.  But now Mercy will be living a more luxurious lifestyle.

Kambewa claims to CNN that he denied his responsibility as a father.  When his girlfriend, fourteen year old Mwandida Mwuande fell pregnant with Mercy.

Madonna popped out of a wedding cake in a crucifix and puffy white gown to sing her ‘Like a Virgin’ hit, at her first MTV Music Video Award in 1984 according to MTV.

She kept the religious concepts in her music.  In 1986, Madonna’s sang in her Papa Don’t Preach lyrics, “I’ve made up my mind, I’ m keeping my baby.” An abortion rights group praised her for this. 

But women groups thought it was encouraging teenage pregnancy.  But according to CNN reports, Madonna called it a message song that ‘everyone was going to take the wrong way.”

The song also caused her first conflict with the Vatican as she dedicated the song to Jean Paul II.  This caused even more problems for Madonna.

Religious backlash

In 1987, John Paul II urged Catholics to not see Madonna on her “Who’s that Girl?” World Tour concert in Italy, according to Reuters.

Her 1989 music video for ‘Like a Prayer, featured the singer kissing a black saint and dancing in front of burning crucifix crosses. 

This resulted in her losing her endorsement with Pepsi after Christian groups protested.  But the problems didn’t stop there.

According to India Times, the World Vaishnava Association also did not approve of Madonna wearing a Hindi mark during her Ray of Light performance of the MTV MVA’S.

Madonna simulated sex with a woman in her ‘ Justify My Love’ music video, which was banned from MTV.  When released, the single rose to the top of the American charts.

The single made No.2 in the UK christmas charts selling 228,683 copies.  She told the New York Times newspaper, “I think the video is romantic and loving and has humour in it.”

Success Highs and Lows

In 1992, Madonna published a photo book called Sex ,which has pornographic poses with celebrities such as Naomi Campbell and Vanilla Ice. 

The book is ridiculed by the press and figures released by Maverick Records show that Madonna’s Erotica Album suffered.  And was not as popular as her previous albums.

Madonna’s controversial adoption of Malawi children David Banda and Mercy James means the Queen of Pop is never shy of media attention.

But despite all of this, she is still adored by fans all over the world.  Millions of them are suscribed to online fan website madonnalicious.

Guiness World Records list her as the world’s most successful female artist of all time.  And she is worth an estimiated $490 million.

Madonna is ranked by the Recording Industry Association of America as the best selling female rock artist of the twentieth century in USA.  Throughout her career she has sold over 63 million albums.
